wEEK six

26/10/2020

It's been about a week - lets change the show again!

After EVEN MORE DISCUSSION, Kelsey and I have realized we aren't even focusing on the twins! We kept coming up with more story and development around the twin's older sibling, Taylor. Because of this, we've decided to double down on our natural development by making Taylor the main character!

We've also decided to put all of our energy into this one scene, putting quality over quantity. Besides, given how unreliable my health is, we want to keep everything as realistic as possible time-wise. I'm already losing almost every Friday due to scans and tests (Ps. I hate it and myself for it.)

So what's the show now?

The show now focuses on Taylor's transition from their teenage year to adulthood. They've started college while working a part-time job, and overall trying to figure out what they want to do with their life. Their two closest friends, Stacey and Douglas, have very diverse personalities, but most importantly they have goals. This only puts more distress on Taylor while trying to survive life.

This week's work!

This week I've tried my best to catch-up on my missed week. Using the second draft, I've started making a storyboard with a colour coding system.

Here's the plan:

  • I crate basic storyboards with characters, essential decor, and props shown in their related colour.

    • Blue - essential props

    • Red - scene building/environmental storytelling.

    • Orange - Adds some flavour to the scene, but not essential

  • Kelsey will then draw these out properly, in the final style

  • While Kelsey does that, I will seek out voice actors and sort audio

  • Once Kelsey has done some frames, I will start creating an animatic

  • When the animatic is done, I'll begin animating and Kelsey will help with colouring the frames.

Simple, right? I wonder how badly my health will mess this one up...

Frames so far

I'm yet to finish all the frames, however, I focused on the back and forth between Stacy and Taylor at the window - finishing all of those frames. Next week I aim to finish the entire storyboard as well as add text explains how each frame ties to the script.

(please feel free to ignore the fact I made it 8pm instead of 2am...)
